El director ejecutivo de la compañía de seguridad estadounidense Stratfor Global Intelligence, George Friedman, ha reconocido que los correos electrónicos filtrados a Wikileaks y publicados, entre otros medios, porPúblico.es, son de su empresa, si bien ha dicho que algunos pueden estar "falsificados o alterados".
Friedman ha acusado a "unos piratas informáticos" de irrumpir en los sistemas de datos de Stratfor en diciembre y robar "gran cantidad de mensajes de correo electrónico de la empresa, así como información privada de los suscriptores". "Hoy Wikileaks está publicando esos correos", ha explicado. El directivo ha tildado la publicación de los mails de "lamentable, deplorable e ilegal violación de la privacidad".
A pesar de admitir que la filtración supone para su empresa un ataque directo, ha asegurado que Stratfor no se va a callar y "seguirá publicando los análisis geopolíticos de sus suscriptores". No obstante, Friedman ha pedido disculpas, a través de un comunicado, a todos sus clientes por las consecuencias derivadas de la filtración de los ya conocidos como Global Intelligence Files.
Friedman ha insistido asimismo en que su compañía no pertenece al Gobierno estadounidense ni está vinculada con ningún otro. "Los correos son de propiedad privada", ha aclarado el director ejecutivo, quien además, ha destacado que las fuentes que maneja Stratfor "ayudan a los analistas a entender mejor los problemas en muchos de estos países [aquellos en los que tienen fuentes] a través de los ojos de la gente que vive allí".
Los correos de la "CIA en la sombra"
Desde el pasado lunes, más de una veintena de medios de todo el mundo, entre ellos Público.es, han comenzado a publicar las revelaciones de la última filtración que ha obtenido la organización de Julian Assange: millones de correos electrónicos internos de la empresa conocida como "la CIA en la sombra", una compañía de espionaje privada, Stratfor, cuyos clientes incluyen a los servicios secretos, los ministerios de Defensa y de Exteriores, y las embajadas de la mayoría de los países industrializadas (incluida España), además de las más grandes multinacionales del planeta.
Entre las decenas de miles de correos que se cruzaron los analistas de Stratfor, destacan unos cuantos en los que los espías se burlan del expresidente del Gobierno José María Aznar. La directora de Inteligencia Geopolítica de esa CIA en la sombra, Reva Bhalla, llega a sorprenderse de que Aznar sea "más extremista que los funcionarios israelíes" a los que ha escuchado.
Otros de los correos revelan, por ejemplo, que la compañía de Friedman espió a los activistas defensores de las víctimas del mayor accidente industrial de la historia: la explosión de una fábrica estadounidense de pesticidas en Bhopal (India) en 1984.

Stratfor's Leaked Emails Expose Some Very Tangled Intelligence Gathering

The anti-secrecy group Wikileaks began publishing more than five million internal emails from the U.S. based private intelligence company, Stratfor on Sunday. It includes a memo allegedly written by George Friedman, the CEO of the company that reads like something out of a spy novel.
The document is allegedly Friedman’s own wry rundown of intelligence lingo that his employees use in their work for corporate and government clients.
The document dump explains that an "All-Source Fusion Cell" is: "A trans-compartmentalized group of analysts who get to see everything and have to make sense of it. Don't wish it on your worst enemy."

All bets are off if he were to deem in his delusional mind that starting a war, let’s call it an October surprise that could keep him in office a second term. Germany's Role in Europe and the European Debt Crisis

The German government proposed last week that a European commissioner be appointed to supplant the Greek government. While phrasing the German proposal this way might seem extreme, it is not unreasonable. Under the German proposal, this commissioner would hold power over the Greek national budget and taxation. Since the European Central Bank already controls the Greek currency, the euro, this would effectively transfer control of the Greek government to the European Union, since whoever controls a country's government expenditures, tax rates and monetary policy effectively controls that country. The German proposal therefore would suspend Greek sovereignty and the democratic process as the price of financial aid to Greece.
